Job Title: Assistant Manager --OPEN BOTH LOCATIONS

Job Description:

Tiny Hanger, a charming and beloved children's clothing boutique in the Boston area, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Manager to join our team. We pride ourselves on offering a carefully curated selection of high-quality children's apparel and accessories and JellyCat toys, along with exceptional customer service. As Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the store's operations, driving sales, and fostering a positive and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Customer Service:

Lead by example, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring all customers have a positive shopping experience.

Help train and coach sales associates on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.

Assist customers with product selection, sizing, and styling.

Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.

Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

Manage web orders with Manager

  • Operations:

Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures,cash handling, loss prevention and inventory management.

Ensure the store is visually appealing and well-maintained, adhering to merchandising standards.

Assist with receiving and processing new merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels.

Work with the other locations to coordinate merchandise is appropriately stocked 

Merchandising & Marketing:

Collaborate with the buying team to ensure the store's merchandise assortment meets customer needs and reflects current trends.

Implement effective visual merchandising displays to showcase products and drive sales.

Assist team with  local marketing initiatives and merch to increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic.  Assist with all events including outreach, production, day of event tasks for events such as JellyCat launches, Silhouettes, Book readings and assist with creation of new events.

Assist Manager with Visual Merchandising of all products including ensuring JellyCats are fully stocked and look pleasing to customers.  Be on top of trends and merchandise to promote best sellers. Assist with JellyCat reorders.

 

  • Leadership & Team Management:

Support the Store Manager in scheduling and supervising sales associates.

Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations to sales associates in conjunction with the Manager

.

Requirements:

  • Retail Experience: Prior experience in retail management or a supervisory role, preferably in a children's boutique or similar setting.
  • Passion for Children's Fashion: A genuine interest in children's clothing and JellyCats.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong customer relationships.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong sales skills and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Can lift 30 lbs,and go downstairs and use ladder
  • College degree helpful

We pride ourselves on providing a unique shopping experience for parents and children, offering a curated selection of high-quality clothing, toys, and accessories. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, assisting customers, and contributing to the overall success of the store.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly, offering assistance, and providing product knowledge.
  • Sales: Drive sales by understanding customer needs, suggesting appropriate products, and processing transactions efficiently.
  • Visual Merchandising: Help maintain a visually appealing and organized store environment, ensuring products are displayed attractively and restocked regularly.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving new merchandise,organizing stock, and conducting inventory counts.
  • Opening/Closing Procedures: Open and close the store following established procedures, ensuring security and cleanliness.

  • Carry boxes up to 30 lbs, go up and down stairs and ladders
