Job Title: Store Manager

Location: Start in Wellesley location and move to Brookline location August/September as permanent location. 

Job Description:

Tiny Hanger, a cherished and thriving children's clothing boutique, located in Brookline & Wellesley, is seeking a passionate and experienced Store Manager to lead our team and oversee the overall operations of our store. We pride ourselves on curating a delightful selection of high-quality children's apparel and accessories, and on providing exceptional customer service. As Store Manager, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging shopping environment, driving sales, and ensuring the success of the store. You’ll play a key role in creating an inviting and engaging shopping experience that captivates both children and adults. Responsibilities: 

  • Sales & Customer Service:

Achieve set sales goals, implementing strategies to maximize sales and profitability. 

Ensure exceptional customer service standards are met and exceeded, creating a loyal customer base. 

Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally. 

Train and coach sales associates on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service. 

  • Operations:

Oversee all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, loss prevention and visual merchandising. 

Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment. 

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 

Manage store budget and expenses with owner. 

  • Leadership & Team Management:

Assist owner with recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing sales team. 

Schedule and supervise sales associates, ensuring adequate staffing levels. 

Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members. 

Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment. 

Work with other Managers to coordinate store activities and merchandise planning 

  • Merchandising & Marketing:

Collaborate with the buying team to ensure the store's merchandise assortment meets customer needs and reflects current trends. 

Implement effective visual merchandising displays to showcase products and drive sales. 

Develop and execute local marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic with Managers. 

  • Community Engagement:

Represent Tiny Hanger at local events and build relationships with community organizations. 

Foster a strong connection between the store and the local community. 

  • Visual Merchandising:

Implement and maintain visually appealing displays that showcase our products and tell a story. 

Design and execute window displays, floor layouts, and in-store presentations that reflect current trends and seasonal themes. 

Ensure consistent brand image and messaging throughout the store. 

Collaborate with the buying team to highlight new arrivals and key promotions. 

  • Store Aesthetics:

Maintain a clean, organized, and visually pleasing store environment. 

Ensure that merchandise is properly displayed, signed, and priced. 

Oversee store upkeep and maintenance tasks as needed. 

  • Creativity & Innovation:

Stay up-to-date on visual merchandising trends and techniques. 

Generate creative ideas for displays and promotions. 

Contribute to the overall brand aesthetic and customer experience.

Other tasks as needed.

Requirements: 

  • Retail Management Experience: Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a children's boutique or similar setting. This is not an entry level position. 
  • Passion for Children's Fashion: A genuine love for children's clothing and a strong understanding of current trends.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business sense, with the ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make informed decisions.
  • Customer Service Excellence: A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships with customers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve challenges effectively and efficiently.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • This position will train & work in Wellesley until August/Sept 2025 & then move to Brookline as a permanent location. Must be able to travel between two stores with ease.

Job Title: Assistant Manager --Wellesley

We pride ourselves on offering a carefully curated selection of high-quality children's apparel and accessories and JellyCat toys, along with exceptional customer service. As Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the store's operations, driving sales, and fostering a positive and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Customer Service:

Lead by example, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring all customers have a positive shopping experience.

Help train and coach sales associates on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.

Assist customers with product selection, sizing, and styling.

Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.

Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

Manage web orders with Manager

  • Operations:

Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures,cash handling, loss prevention and inventory management.

Ensure the store is visually appealing and well-maintained, adhering to merchandising standards.

Assist with receiving and processing new merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels.

Work with the other locations to coordinate merchandise is appropriately stocked 

Merchandising & Marketing:

Collaborate with the buying team to ensure the store's merchandise assortment meets customer needs and reflects current trends.

Implement effective visual merchandising displays to showcase products and drive sales.

Assist team with  local marketing initiatives and merch to increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic.  Assist with all events including outreach, production, day of event tasks for events such as JellyCat launches, Silhouettes, Book readings and assist with creation of new events.

Assist Manager with Visual Merchandising of all products including ensuring JellyCats are fully stocked and look pleasing to customers.  Be on top of trends and merchandise to promote best sellers. Assist with JellyCat reorders.

 

  • Leadership & Team Management:

Support the Store Manager in scheduling and supervising sales associates.

Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations to sales associates in conjunction with the Manager

.

Requirements:

  • Retail Experience: Prior experience in retail management or a supervisory role, preferably in a children's boutique or similar setting.
  • Passion for Children's Fashion: A genuine interest in children's clothing and JellyCats.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong customer relationships.
